My mother, Dinh Thi Nguyen, was born and raised in Van Lam Village, a village with more than 700 years of embroidery tradition.
She began learning embroidery at about five or six years old and has now spent more than 50 years with the craft. In our family, embroidery has been passed down through four generations. In 2015, she was officially recognized by Ninh Binh Province as a traditional hand-embroidery artisan.
Today, she continues to embroider and pass the tradition on to the next generation. Guests who book our Traditional Experience can meet her and hear the story directly from our family, subject to advance booking.
